Capital Improvement Project at Rome City School District

C&S Companies is the construction manager for the $14.2 million Capital Improvement Project at Rome City School District. The project includes both an Energy Performance Project and a Capital Improvement Project and is part of an overall long-term capital investment for the district.

The energy performance project included upgrading lighting systems throughout the high school with adaptive lighting controls. Upgrades and replacements to the pool boiler, building chiller systems, and implementing a standardized District-wide energy management system.

Phase 1 of the Capital Improvement Project included installation of the new synthetic turf field and running track. The project also included repair and restoration of failed masonry joints at the high school. C&S was able to streamline the construction phase and complete this project in time for fall competition.

Phase 2 of the Capital Improvement Project will focus primarily on improvements to the high school. Phase 2 improvements include renovations to the pool including removal and replacement of the roof deck and roofing systems. Exterior improvements include roofing, replacement of windows, exterior doors, masonry restoration and sidewalk replacements. Interior improvements are heavily focused on mechanical systems, include retro-commissioning the existing systems, installation of the new emergency generator and upgrades to the network closets. There are select interior finish upgrades including ceilings at the corridors and flooring at stairwells and entry ways.
