C&S and Steer Partner to Launch AirportNetZero.com Website
C&S Companies and Steer Group today announced the launch of AirportNetZero.com, a first-of-its-kind partnership to enable rapid greenhouse gas emission reductions at airports. Both the U.S. Department of Transportation and Airports Council International have set goals to achieve net-zero emissions from the U.S. aviation sector by 2050. In support of that goal, C&S and Steer have joined forces to provide the airport industry with a unique, full-service offering for net-zero strategy, planning, and project implementation.
AirportNetZero.com includes an interactive airport decarbonization calculator, designed to enable airports to estimate their future greenhouse gas emissions under various scenarios of growth and technological adoption. The site also provides airports with a checklist of actions to initiate, execute, and accomplish their net-zero goals.
C&S and Steer have considerable experience in helping airports pursue net-zero. For over a decade, C&S has been the airport industry’s go-to partner for sustainability. C&S was the first company to fully integrate sustainability into airport master planning, and we have administered over half of the country’s Envision-certified airfield projects, including the world’s one Envision Platinum runway. Steer is a leader in aviation consulting services with global expertise in infrastructure, strategic business planning, as well as airline and regulatory environments. Together, their expertise and capabilities will prove valuable to airports trying to understand and reduce their contributions to climate change.
“No matter where airports are in the decarbonization process, we can help them make further progress,” said Corey Johnson, Director of Aviation Sustainability at C&S. “Our services are designed for airports, tailored to gain support from all levels in the airport organization, and centered around bringing cost-effective, impactful projects to fruition.”
Dr. Steve Van Beek, Director and Head of North American Aviation for Steer, adds “our website is a great tool and set of resources to help airports estimate the challenge of achieving net-zero and engage with business partners on practical and effective solutions.”
