C&S Featured in Going Green for its Leadership in Sustainability
C&S was recently featured in a cover story for the inaugural edition of Going Green magazine. The article, entitled C&S Companies: LEEDing by Example, highlights C&S’s sustainability expertise and leadership, and describes the firm’s commitment to helping clients meet or exceed goals set by climate laws being enacted across the country, including New York’s ambitious Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act.
The article, which focuses on several areas of C&S’s sustainability expertise—building design, energy efficiency improvements, airport planning and design, industrial process design, and carbon management—emphasizes the importance of client/consultant communication and synergy to produce positive results. “We make sure we’re providing the highest and best value to every client,” said C&S’s Kailey Eldredge. “Sustainability shouldn’t be a burden. We want to establish balance between benefits and cost-efficiency.”
As a nationally recognized leader for sustainability planning and design, C&S itself has taken on various initiatives that model environmentally responsible design and construction. The article describes some of these initiatives including: a reduction in the consumption of non-renewable resources; facility improvements that include heat recovery systems, sensors and LED light fixtures; alternative energy sources; and participation in the Good Traveler carbon offset program.
