C&S congratulates Maria Benovic, who was recently named an Airport Business Top 40 Under 40 winner. The 40 Under 40 showcase recognizes the most innovative emerging leaders building the aviation industry in North America. Nominated by a peer or leader in the industry, winners are selected from hundreds of nominations from different facets of the aviation industry for showing commitment, drive, and professional accomplishments during their career.

After graduating from Cleveland State University, Maria joined C&S in 2012 and now serves as a Managing Engineer in the firm’s aviation practice. As a project manager, client manager, and design engineer for many of C&S’s projects in the Great Lakes region and around the country, she has gained the respect and admiration of many leaders in the industry. Maria is a strong, innovative collaborator, a great communicator, and gets high marks from our clients and teammates as a thorough, thoughtful, and effective leader. “Helping clients bring their vision to a reality is so rewarding,” said Benovic. “The industry is full of challenges—from funding sources and budgets, through design and construction. It is gratifying to be able to collaborate and overcome these issues together.”

As a passionate advocate for the aviation industry, Maria has served in several roles for the Ohio Aviation Association (OAA) including several years as a director of the OAA board, vice president, president, and currently, immediate past president. “I want to collaborate and provide opportunities for learning,” said Benovic. “There is so much change that is happening in the world, I want to be the conduit to help others understand that change.”
